Increasing Keyword Density / Internal Linking Structure
Concerto Internet Marketing - Loveland, Fort Collins serving all the U.S. and Canada
Keyword density has depreciated in importance over the years because of search engine optimization companies that abused the search engine ranking criteria used by Google and the other search engines. In its infancy, Google simply counted the keywords on various websites, and whoever had the most instances of a particular keyword would show up number one in the results. Webmasters caught on to this pretty quickly and began to stuff their pages full of keywords, literally copying them over and over hundreds of times. This quickly ruined Google's plans because they were serving up results that weren't always in the best interests of their users. Even so, Google is forced to factor in keyword density as a basic search engine ranking criteria because it is the most obvious indicator of what your website is all about.
Good search engine optimization involves boosting keyword density within reasonable limits. You don't want to stuff your page full of keywords, but if a page presents a particular subject such as porcelain veneers on a dental web design, and there are only three instances of that keyword within 500 words, that's a keyword density of less than 1 percent. As part of the search engine optimization effort, I will increase your pages' keyword density by strategically inserting the relevant keyword phrases within the text of your website. Of course, as part of my custom copywriting for the Web service, your content is written with keyword density in mind, but if your text was written by a dentist or a marketing person with no knowledge of SEO, chances are that the content is low on keywords.
Also, as part of increasing your content's keyword density, I sprinkle in (carefully and sparingly) some links between the various pages to provide a healthy amount of internal anchor text linking for ranking benefits.
