Blog Marketing
As part of a Web marketing strategy - Fort Collins, Loveland, Colorado and all over the U.S. and Canada
The Web is constantly growing and changing, and if you want your website to become a mainstay of the Web in your local market, it needs to grow and change too. Google is constantly scouring the Web to find new information in order to satisfy the growing consumer demand for up-to-date information online. If your website is collecting cobwebs, then Google is going to be less likely to promote your website to the first page of the search engines. On the other hand, if you keep your website flush with new information, Google will naturally gravitate toward your site. This is a strong edge that you can have over your competitors.
Blogging is the easiest way to consistently pump new content into your website. A blog is a section of your website that you are able to log into and easily post articles and other tidbits of information about your practice or the world at large. Blog entries should be written with the consumer in mind, not your colleagues. The entries should be simple, usually consisting of no more than two or three paragraphs unless you're really wordy like me.
When Google finds your blog, it will take note of it and move on. Then at a later date, it will return to your site and see that your blog has been updated. It will find the pages that your posts created and will index those as well. Because it found new content on your website, it will make a note to visit more often to continue to index your new information.
Not everyone has the time to blog. If you're a dentist and you're constantly seeing patients, the idea of finding time to blog can seem very daunting. The answer? Delegate. Identify someone in your practice that is active online and is a decent writer, and put them in charge of blogging on a weekly basis (minimum). If that's not a possibility, then hire someone to do it for you.
As part of Concerto's Internet marketing packages, if need be, I can blog on your site on a weekly basis. This should be in addition to what you're doing, but at least you'll have peace of mind that something is being regularly posted on your blog.
