So much of a successful Web marketing campaign is more like a public relations campaign than an advertising campaign. You're trying to get your name out there so that people can't help coming across your website. One of the ways that you can promote public awareness of your business is to run an on-going public relations campaign on the Web.
How It Works
Similar to a traditional public relations campaign, and e-PR campaign involves the release of information tagged with your name and Web address. These releases can come in the form of true press releases as well as informative articles. I will submit these articles and press releases to third-party PR websites and news outlets, embedding links from the articles to the relevant pages of your website. These articles may show up on the search engines when potential patients/customers do searches related to your business, but even if not, there is a big link building benefit to sending out the articles.
Link Building and e-PR
Google frequently spiders the websites where I submit your articles and press releases because it likes the fresh content that these websites naturally accumulate. When Google indexes one of these articles, it finds the good, keyword-rich, original content, and finds a link to relevant pages of your website. The relevance is critical because it increases the links' value. A relevant link is worth more than a link on some random directory. Of course, an online public relations campaign requires significantly more work than signing up for a directory listing, but it's well worth the effort.
